Haenggung-dong Rakuen: The Perfect Spot for Dates and Gatherings
Gyeonggi Province Suwon Jangan-dong Haenggung-dong Located at Gyeonggi Province Suwon 1F, 67-2, Sinpung-ro, Paldal-gu (Jangan-dong), Rakuen is a hidden gem that operates late into the night. It’s rare to find an izakaya open this late, and Rakuen is a special place that can satisfy that craving. Its impressive tiled roof shines from afar, making it easy for first-time visitors to find.
Charming Interior and Atmosphere
Haenggung-dong The beauty felt from the entrance of Rakuen excites visitors. The reserved 6-seater table seems ample for gatherings with friends. Especially if the weather is not too chilly, the outdoor terrace seating is perfect for enjoying a drink with a great view. The interior design is stylish yet creates a comfortable atmosphere, making it an ideal date spot.
The stairs leading to the second floor are also decorated with a unique design, and there’s a photo zone utilizing mirrors. Although I quietly looked around as there were other guests on the second floor, I was once again impressed by the owner’s excellent sense of interior design. The second floor feels a bit brighter than the first, making it perhaps more suitable for casual friend gatherings than for couples. However, since the women’s restroom is on the first floor, I might prefer seating on the first floor on my next visit. The cleanly maintained restroom adds to the visitor’s satisfaction. (For reference, the men’s restroom is located on the second floor.)
Diverse and Delicious Menu
Once seated, orders are placed via tablet PC. The menu is extensive, so it’s advisable to refer to the external menu board. While peas are served as a basic appetizer, the taste was ordinary according to personal preference. Since my friends were late, I ordered appetizers freely.
- Nagasaki Champon (Spicy): This dish includes udon noodles, making it a great meal option. The fact that the shrimp shells were already peeled was particularly impressive and made it very easy to eat.
- Okonomiyaki: I usually don’t order this dish, but it was more delicious than I expected. It’s a recommended menu item.
- Mentaiko Cream Pasta: This dish reminded me once again that pasta goes well with drinks. It has a rich milky flavor, which might be a hit for those who love the taste of milk.
- Chicken Karaage: This is a fail-proof dish; the warm and tender chicken is so good you can’t stop eating it even when full.
Haenggung-dong You can have a wonderful time with delicious food under the soft lighting. Rakuen is highly recommended as the best place suitable for any occasion, including dates, blind dates, and friend gatherings.
