The bank informed me that deposits were not possible immediately but around 12 PM, so instead of waiting, I headed straight to Seoul.<\/p>\n<p>I stopped by House of Shinsegae Cheongdam near <a href=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/en\/travel-destination\/south-korea\/seoul-special-city\/gangnam-district\/apgujeong-rodeo-station\/\">Apgujeong Rodeo Station<\/a> and bought bakery items without waiting in line, visiting the Cheongdam branch instead of Seongsu. After buying my favorite salt bread and looking for a place to have lunch, I discovered a restaurant with a similar taste to &#8216;Deulkkae Bangagan&#8217; through an AI recommendation. I thought, &#8220;The world has really become convenient.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>A Restaurant Selected for the Blue Ribbon for 13 Consecutive Years, Garam Guksu<\/h2>\n<p>I trusted the AI-recommended restaurant, which had received multiple Blue Ribbons, and visited. Garam Guksu, which I reached after about a 6-minute walk, opens at 11 AM and has a break time. This restaurant, selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey for 13 consecutive years since 2012, is a traditional noodle restaurant from Hakdong Station that has moved and reopened in Cheongdam. &#8216;Garam&#8217; means river, and &#8216;Guksu&#8217; means noodles.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_2_90025EF25BC25BFScreenshot25EF25BC25BF2026013025EF25BC25BF17441625EF25BC25BFNAVER.jpg\" alt=\"Exterior of Garam Guksu\"><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_3_90025EF25BC25BFScreenshot25EF25BC25BF2026013025EF25BC25BF17444525EF25BC25BFNAVER.jpg\" alt=\"Interior of Garam Guksu\"><\/figure>\n<p>Continuous awards are likely the result of consistently maintaining taste and quality.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_4_90025EF25BC25BF2026012825EF25BC25BF122540.jpg\" alt=\"Blue Ribbon Award History\"><\/figure>\n<p>The restaurant had three tables for two, but there were three solo diners. I also felt a bit awkward sitting at a four-person table, but I felt I needed to finish my meal quickly.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_5_90025EF25BC25BF1769763290244.jpg\" alt=\"Four-person table\"><\/figure>\n<p>The restaurant was clean, and on the left, there were three private rooms for group customers. I could tell they were regulars as people older than me came in groups of 3-4 and exchanged greetings with the server. The interior had a modern gray tone, but the mother-of-pearl cabinet placed towards the kitchen was impressive. It seemed traditional elements were retained even after the renovation.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_6_90025EF25BC25BF1769763389413.jpg\" alt=\"Restaurant interior design\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Menu Exploration and Ordering<\/h3>\n<p>The signature dishes at Garam Guksu are anchovy kalguksu and beef kalguksu. A set menu for two is also available.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_7_1769919555672.jpg\" alt=\"Menu (Signature Dishes)\"><\/figure>\n<p>I considered ordering dumplings, but the Greek yogurt I had at Shinsegae Department Store didn&#8217;t seem to have fully digested, so I skipped the dumplings and ordered only the &#8216;Anchovy Guksu&#8217;.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_8_1769919546661.jpg\" alt=\"Menu (Set Menu and A La Carte)\"><\/figure>\n<h4>Side Dishes<\/h4>\n<p>The side dishes provided were perilla leaves, chives kimchi, and napa cabbage kimchi.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linksboo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/linkboo_9922_9_90025EF25BC25BF2026012825EF25BC25BF122712.jpg\" alt=\"Side Dishes (Perilla Leaves, Chives Kimchi, Napa Cabbage Kimchi)\"><\/figure>\n<p>I was curious about the taste of the perilla leaves here, remembering the delicious perilla leaves at the Andong Guksu restaurant, a family favorite. I recommend visiting if you are in the area.
