Introducing Ttoa Sikppang Bakery, a hidden gem in the Gwangju<\/a> area, which gained attention after being featured on tvN’s ‘Youth Over Flowers’. This bread, mentioned by actors Jung Yu-mi, Park Seo-joon, and Choi Woo-shik on the bus in the program as being tastier than Sung Sim Dang’s garlic bread from the Gwangju<\/a> bakery, is what led the actors to visit Ttoa Sikppang Bakery themselves, located near their accommodation in Gwangju<\/a>. Fortunately, I had the chance to try Ttoa Sikppang Bakery’s offerings during my business trip to Gwangju<\/a>\/Yeonggwang, thanks to my husband.<\/p>\n

Ttoa Sikppang Bakery opens at 10:30 AM on weekdays and 10:00 AM on weekends and holidays. It’s known to be very popular, with people lining up even before opening on weekends, so it’s advisable to hurry if you want to purchase your desired bread. The store is quite small and is a local bakery that only offers takeout. Having been here since 1986, the author couldn’t take many interior photos due to the limited space and her husband’s introverted personality.<\/p>\n

Ttoa Sikppang Bakery offers a variety of bread types. The ‘Youth Over Flowers’ cast members purchased corn bread (Park Seo-joon’s top pick), garlic bread, blueberry bread, and mugwort hotteok (Choi Woo-shik’s top pick). Unfortunately, my husband couldn’t buy the corn bread as it was sold out, and he didn’t buy the garlic bread because he was worried about the smell on the train. Instead, he chose pizza bread and chestnut bread. He also visited the croquette shop next door before purchasing only two types of bread.<\/p>\n

Review of the Bread I Tried<\/h3>\n

The chestnut bread we tried upon returning home was excellent with its sweet, candied chestnut filling, and the overall texture of the bread was very soft and clean. The pizza bread had a tangy tomato sauce flavor, offering a decent taste despite its affordable price. As a couple who loves bread, we’ve experienced many famous bread places in Seoul, with Standard Bread, White Rhee, Levan, and Mido being our favorites. Based on just the two types of bread we tried this time, it’s hard to judge which one would be our absolute favorite, but my husband is determined to buy the corn bread and garlic bread on his next business trip.<\/p>\n
