Jeju Culinary Exploration: Enjoying Refined Korean Cuisine at Snail Restaurant<\/h2>\n

I’m sharing my experience of a successful Jeju trip, with both the weather and restaurant choices being favorable. Jeju Island, in particular, often experiences flight cancellations or delays due to strong spring winds, and there are frequent controversies about overpriced food, so careful selection is needed when planning a trip. Fortunately, all the restaurants we visited were satisfactory. After visiting Bontae Museum for our first destination, we headed to Snail Restaurant<\/strong> for lunch.<\/p>\n

Snail Restaurant opens at 11 AM, with the last order taken until 3 PM, and is closed on Fridays. The interior of the restaurant is clean and well-organized, and my husband and I sat by the window near the entrance.<\/p>\n

A Generous and Refined Table Setting<\/h3>\n

The Snail Set Meal we ordered is served on a tray, often called an ‘obong’, filled with food. This concept is similar to ‘Halmeoni Buttumak’ located in Suji, Yongin, and the generous table setting is impressive.<\/p>\n

One of the main dishes, the grilled pork belly, boasts a tender texture and good flavor. However, it was a bit disappointing that it was imported meat; it would have been a more special experience if it were Jeju black pork.<\/p>\n

The side dishes served alongside were all seasoned appropriately and had a savory flavor, making them enjoyable to eat. In particular, the *cheonggukjang* (fermented soybean paste stew) made with soybeans grown by the owner’s mother is the signature dish of this restaurant.<\/p>\n
