On the second day of our 2-night, 3-day trip to Gangneung<\/a> & Donghae from April 2nd to 4th, 2023, we explored various attractions in Jumunjin and Donghae. Since many places were briefly introduced, we’ve compiled them into one post.<\/p>\n

Jumunjin BTS Bus Stop<\/h2>\n

Located north of Sodol Beach, the BTS Bus Stop is famous as a filming location for the album jacket of ‘You Never Walk Alone’. Many fans visit this spot to take commemorative photos as if they were with the BTS members.<\/p>\n

Sodol Beach<\/h2>\n

Sodol Beach is decorated with a youthful vibe and offers various attractions such as a swing that stimulates childlike innocence, a yellow moon-shaped photo zone, and a picture frame photo zone. It’s a great place to visit with children and to take wonderful photos with the sea as a backdrop.<\/p>\n

Grave Rock Park & Sodol Port<\/h2>\n

Located behind Sodol Port in Jumunjin-eup<\/a>, Grave Rock Park is a place with a legend that it grants sons. It features unique oddly shaped rocks and various sculptures, including a child statue and a couple statue. It’s especially fun to find the rock shaped like a fetus, and it’s popular among newlyweds.<\/p>\n

Red Lighthouse & Dokkaebi Market<\/h2>\n

The Red Lighthouse, located in Sodol Port, is known as a filming location for the Netflix drama ‘The Glory’. Its intense red color makes for striking photos.<\/p>\n

Maebawi Rock<\/h2>\n

The Maebawi Rock, the first lighthouse built in Gangwon Province<\/a> in 1918, boasts a beautiful appearance. Although it might be partially hidden by buildings, climbing the stairs reveals a photo zone with a stunning view, perfect for capturing memorable photos. It’s so beautiful that it would be an ideal wedding photoshoot location.<\/p>\n

Yeongjin Beach & Goblin Drama Filming Site (Breakwater)<\/h2>\n

The breakwater at Yeongjin Beach, famous as a filming location for the drama ‘Goblin’, can be difficult to distinguish as there are several of them. To recreate scenes from the drama, you need to wait for your turn in front of the sign indicating it’s a filming location. Access may be restricted during rough seas.<\/p>\n

Dokkaebi Market<\/h2>\n

The Dokkaebi Market, located near the filming site of the drama ‘Goblin’, has been reborn as a hip space with various food and entertainment options. The charm lies in the preserved 1700-pyeong squid processing factory building, which is divided into several booths such as Boksa-kkot Salon and Kongbangatgan.<\/p>\n

Yeongjin Port & Maebawi Rock & Turtle Rock<\/h2>\n

Maebawi Rock and Turtle Rock, located near the entrance of Yeongjin Port, are places steeped in legend. It is said that a young man and woman who loved each other in the past turned into rocks. Maebawi Rock has a fierce profile, and Turtle Rock is shaped like a turtle. You can also enjoy murals as you walk along the long breakwater.<\/p>\n
