After visiting Bayerischer Hof on the second day of our trip, we got off at Szechenyi station and headed to Szechenyi Thermal Bath. We initially went to the wrong entrance and got a little lost, but with the help of a staff member, we found the correct one. Since we hadn’t booked online, we entered through the left-hand entrance. When you purchase a cabin ticket, you receive a watch-like bracelet with a lock function. The cabins are spacious, so if you’re traveling with companions, one cabin ticket should be sufficient for everyone.<\/p>\n

Sz\u00e9chenyi Thermal Bath was truly a beautiful place. The outdoor pools were especially pleasant and enjoyable when visited early in the morning before the crowds arrived. After 11 AM, the number of visitors increased significantly. The indoor baths also offered over 10 pools with various temperatures, allowing us to choose according to our preferences.<\/p>\n

After our hot spring bath, we stopped by a chimney cake bakery to satisfy our hunger. It was a good light snack before lunch.<\/p>\n

Hungary<\/a> After a short rest at our accommodation, we visited the nearby Hungarian State Opera House. Many people were sitting on the second-floor terrace, but we didn’t go inside due to the crowds. It appeared to have a cafe.<\/p>\n

Great Market Hall and Shopping<\/h2>\n

Budapest<\/a> After a quick pizza lunch, we took a tram to the Great Market Hall. It was interesting to experience the tram operating on a fixed schedule. The Great Market Hall, Budapest<\/a>‘s central market, closes early on Saturdays, so we had to hurry through our visit. (We revisited because it was closed the previous day due to a public holiday.) We bought paprika powder and Tokaji wine as souvenirs here; the Tokaji wine was delicious.<\/p>\n

After shopping, we took the wrong bus on our way back to the accommodation and ended up using the subway. It was a different subway system than the one we used to go to Szechenyi, more similar to the one in Korea.<\/p>\n

We then moved on to the fashion street for shopping. The Zara store, in particular, was fun to browse with products different from those in Korea. I was able to buy soft tank tops, which I always purchase when traveling in Europe, at a reasonable price.<\/p>\n

We also visited an area that looked like an underground shopping mall, but it wasn’t as active as those in Korea.<\/p>\n

The Enchanting Night View of Sz\u00e9chenyi Chain Bridge<\/h2>\n

After dinner, we headed to Sz\u00e9chenyi Chain Bridge, famous for its night view. Before sunset, it was ordinary, but once the lights came on, every direction was beautiful. The night view stretching towards Fisherman’s Bastion was breathtaking.<\/p>\n

Departure from Budapest<\/a> and Travel to Graz<\/h2>\n

On our last day in Budapest<\/a>, we took the subway to the train station. The subway without platform screen doors was a bit unnerving.<\/p>\n

At the train station, we had some difficulty purchasing tickets, but with the help of a kind intern, we were able to board the train without issue. The Wi-Fi on the train was very slow, and the data signal was also weak.<\/p>\n
