Sin-haebaragi Bunsik: Sundubu Jjigae Review from the ‘Ddo-gan-jip’ Jeju Episode<\/h2>\n

Jeju Province<\/a> Jeju City<\/a> Located at 13, Gwan-deok-ro 13-gil, Sin-haebaragi Bunsik is featured in the popular YouTube channel ‘Ddo-gan-jip’ Jeju episode. Here’s a review of our visit to try their signature sundubu jjigae.<\/p>\n

Visit Time and Waiting Information<\/h3>\n

We visited a little before 1 PM on a weekday. Perhaps due to the rainy weather, the wait was shorter than expected, and we were seated after about 20 minutes. It seems that avoiding peak hours or considering the weather can help reduce waiting time.<\/p>\n

Atmosphere and Self-Serve Side Dish Corner<\/h3>\n

The interior of the restaurant, familiar from the ‘Ddo-gan-jip’ YouTube channel, was packed with customers. I visited alone and was seated at a two-person table right by the door. The main dining area was crowded, so it might be difficult to get a seat further inside if you’re visiting with two or more people.<\/p>\n

The self-serve corner offered four types of side dishes: kimchi, salted squid, pickled perilla leaves, and pickled radish. The salted squid and pickled perilla leaves were particularly good, not too salty and full of umami, making them great with rice. They also sell the side dishes separately, which was tempting. Water is available from a self-serve water dispenser.<\/p>\n

Signature Menu: Sundubu Jjigae<\/h3>\n

The sundubu jjigae we ordered after much deliberation exceeded our expectations. Served bubbling in a stone pot, it boasted a mouthwatering appearance and rich aroma. Its unique texture and taste were unlike anything I’d had before, making it hard to distinguish between the meat and the soft tofu. I usually lower my expectations for famous restaurants, but this place was highly satisfying. I would be willing to wait again for it on my next visit.<\/p>\n

It was even more delicious with the salted squid, and even though I usually don’t finish a whole bowl of rice, I ate every last grain. I regretted not ordering an extra bowl of rice because I was so full.<\/p>\n

Additional Tips and Overall Review<\/h3>\n

Sin-haebaragi Bunsik accepts bank transfers, and using a branch location is a good option if the main one has a long wait. They reportedly use the same side dishes at their branches, so there shouldn’t be a difference in taste. This visit was very satisfying, and I plan to visit another branch on my next trip to Jeju to avoid the wait.<\/p>\n
