Mangwon-dong<\/a> Ugly Bakery, located in Seoul’s Mangwon-dong, also known as Mangridan-gil, was famous for its long waiting lines even before its opening. After registering for a wait at a Chinese restaurant visited by Kang Dong-won, I headed to Ugly Bakery, a 15-minute walk away. Upon arriving at 11:45 AM on a Sunday, there were already over 50 teams in line, and the atmosphere was bustling, especially with many Chinese tourists.<\/p>\n

Ugly Bakery is closed every Monday and Tuesday and is located near Mangwon Market. Although it opens at 12:00 PM sharp, many people were already queuing along the stairs. We entered the store sequentially according to the staff’s guidance, and the wait from the stairs took an average of about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

It was 12:35 PM when I entered the store. While waiting, I carefully reviewed the detailed information about the fillings to decide which bread to purchase. The store was narrow, making photography difficult, but I was able to focus on capturing the various breads in the display case once it was my turn.<\/p>\n

Honest Review of Purchased Breads<\/h4>\n

On this visit, I purchased two cream buns, two mammoth buns, and one green onion bread. The cream buns were satisfying with their thin, soft texture and abundant cream filling. The ‘Pistachio Cream Bun’ was particularly to my child’s liking. Personally, the ‘Moving Spicy Green Onion Bread’ was exactly to my taste. The subtle green onion aroma, the harmony of ingredients, and the slightly hard crust, like a baguette, were impressive.<\/p>\n

I was also curious about the signature breads previously made by ‘Cheonhajebang.’ The sweet potato and grain bread is characterized by its rich filling of sweet potato, chestnut, pumpkin, and cream cheese, offering a mild and savory taste. It seems suitable as a meal replacement. The ‘Moving Black Sesame Mammoth Bun’ is well-suited for adult palates and would surely be loved by those who enjoy black sesame.
