Ambiance and Facilities
Midamhyu is not immediately visible from the 1st floor of the building; you need to enter the building and take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor. The entrance, decorated with plants, gives the impression of a luxurious restaurant that could appear in a drama. The hallway leading to the reserved rooms is also beautifully decorated, leaving a great first impression on visitors.

The reserved rooms were conveniently pre-set. Various side dishes were prepared, including kimchi stew, shredded radish salad, pickled perilla leaves, and myeongyi namul. Notably, even though they were floor seating rooms, they had openings to comfortably lower one’s legs, making it comfortable even for long periods of sitting. The regular table seating offers the advantage of enjoying the beautiful lighting and interior more closely.

Main Menu: Premium Meat
The main menu at Midamhyu, the meat, boasts excellent quality. First, the ‘Bon Samgyeop’ (pork belly) is served fully cooked and ready to eat, and it’s even more delicious when paired with abundant chives. While I personally prefer the cast-iron griddle style of samgyeop-sal, the bon samgyeop here is also an excellent choice.

Next, the ‘Tomahawk’ and ‘Woo Daegalbi’ (beef short ribs) we ordered provided a special experience. The Tomahawk was expertly cut by the staff right in front of us, and then the meat was placed on a brazier for us to grill to our liking. Both dishes were melt-in-your-mouth tender, but the Woo Daegalbi was the most impressive.

Side Dishes and Desserts
A variety of side dishes are also available. The ‘Daegejang Fried Rice’ (crab roe fried rice) tasted a bit different from what I expected, but it was enjoyable enough. On the other hand, the ‘Chadol Ramen’ (brisket ramen) had a wonderfully spicy and sharp broth, making it a dish you’ll keep reaching for even after eating the meat. It’s a highly recommended menu item. The ‘Custard Pudding’ was served with maple syrup and was sweet, but the texture of the pudding itself was somewhat different from my personal preference. Nevertheless, its addictive flavor meant we almost finished it.
Overall Review
Midamhyu is a hidden gem in Jeongja Station, offering a luxurious atmosphere, delicious meat, and attentive service. Although the price point is a bit high, it’s well worth visiting for special occasion dinners or gatherings with loved ones. If you’re looking for a delicious meal in a quiet and pleasant environment, Midamhyu is highly recommended.
