The Charm of Outdoor Seating, Waiting is a Must!

While Ojingeo Maeul does have indoor seating, the atmosphere is best enjoyed outdoors. We visited around 4 PM on an early weekend afternoon and were lucky enough to get one of the last outdoor seats, allowing us immediate entry. However, after 5 PM, a long line formed for outdoor seating, truly showing why this place is a hotspot. 👍

Freshness Galore: Raw Squid Sashimi

You can see fresh squid swimming in the tanks in front of the store. We weren’t very hungry that day, so we only ordered the raw squid sashimi. We’ve heard that squid prices have been rising recently, and we definitely felt the price increase compared to before. 🙄

The basic side dishes provided were water, wet wipes, soy sauce, and chojang (spicy vinegar dipping sauce).

Harmony of Abundant Side Dishes and Main Course

The accompanying side dishes included corn mayonnaise, steamed egg, seaweed soup, sweet potato fries, silkworm pupae, and ssam vegetables. The fluffy steamed egg and the crispy, transparent sweet potato fries, fried in clean oil, were excellent even for those who don’t handle richness well. 👍 However, the absence of cheese in the corn mayonnaise was a slight disappointment. 😋

Finally, the long-awaited main dish, raw squid sashimi, arrived. The chewy texture and freshness of the just-caught squid were truly superb. I’m usually a soy sauce person for fish sashimi, but I prefer dipping squid sashimi in chojang. Which sauce do you prefer? Let us know in the comments!

A drink enjoyed with the cool breeze was pure happiness. It was a leisurely time, like being a carefree wanderer, but for me, who was suffering from both Monday and Tuesday blues, it was a moment to forget reality for a while. You can feel how excited I was from the GIF. I should enjoy it more calmly next time. ^_____^

Haenggung-dong For a great outdoor seating hotspot, we highly recommend Ojingeo Maeul!
