Hidden Gem Restaurant, Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew Visit Review
Haenggung-dong Gyeonggi Province Suwon Haenggung-dong For foodies who love spicy food, there’s a place you absolutely must pay attention to: Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew. Located at 40 Changnyong-daero 8beon-gil, Paldal-gu, this place has a flavor you won’t forget once you visit, making it an addictive restaurant you’ll definitely stop by whenever you’re near Gyeonggi Province Suwon. Introducing Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew, which carries on the reputation of Suwon‘s chicken alley.
Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew: Basic Information and Menu
Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew operates daily from 12:00 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:30. It is closed every Tuesday, so please note this before visiting. The store sign indicates an 11 AM opening, which may cause slight confusion compared to Naver information.

On this day, upon a friend’s recommendation, I ordered the medium-spicy pork rib stew and steamed eggs. I’m a bit hazy on whether I added glass noodles, but with a rich menu selection, you’ll be satisfied no matter what you choose.

Spacious and Pleasant Hall with Generous Side Dishes
The interior of the restaurant is more spacious than expected. I visited right after the break time ended in the early evening, so I could enjoy my meal leisurely in a quiet atmosphere.

Another pride of Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Rib Stew is its generous side dishes. Five kinds of neat side dishes are provided, and the white kimchi, in particular, is a perfect match for the spicy rib stew. The steamed eggs, which are incredibly generous for their 4,000 won price, are also a must-have dish to neutralize the spiciness.

Addictively Spicy Rib Stew and Perfect Fried Rice
Finally, the main dish, the spicy pork rib stew, arrived. It’s served uncooked and you cook it yourself. The pork ribs separate so easily from the bone that it feels close to semi-cooked. The first thing I tasted after boiling it thoroughly was the glass noodles, which had an excellent chewy texture.

The medium spice level was slightly less spicy than Buldak Bokkeummyeon, but for those who enjoy spice, I definitely recommend at least the medium level. It’s so good that you might feel the mild flavor is somewhat lacking, as the spiciness is truly alive. Not to mention the tenderness of the ribs that slip off the bone.

Even though I was full, I couldn’t give up on the taste of fried rice, so I ordered one. The fried rice, with its crunchy kimchi and perfect seasoning, was truly amazing. I couldn’t finish it all that day because I was stretching my stomach, but I succeeded in clearing it completely on a subsequent visit.

Although it’s a bit far from the center of Haenggung-dong, I sincerely and strongly recommend this restaurant. I’m worried it might get too famous and the waiting times will get longer, but I wish the owner great success and hope more people get to taste this delicious spicy pork rib stew.
