Overall Review
Domohyeon is a historical site that was formerly used as the provincial lodging for the president and the official residence of the mayor of Busan. It has now been reborn as a complex cultural space for citizens. With a stunning view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge, a beautiful garden, and various cultural spaces, it offers a unique experience to visitors. However, the parking space is limited, and there may be some inconveniences in using certain amenities.

When it was built in 1984, Domohyeon was called the ‘Provincial Blue House’ because there were no tall buildings nearby, allowing views of Gwangalli. Currently, unlike its glamorous past, it operates as a space for citizens’ rest, meetings, and idea generation. The name was also selected by reflecting the opinions of the citizens of Busan.
Inside the building, there are various spaces for different purposes, including ‘Sosoppung Lounge’, ‘Cafe MOMOS’, ‘Dahal’ lecture hall, ‘Beonru’ multi-purpose space, ‘Chwiram’ conference room, and ‘Durok’ meeting room. In particular, ‘Sosoppung Lounge’ on the first floor is an open space where anyone can comfortably stay and enjoy exhibitions or reading. On the second floor, ‘Beonru’ screens a video about the past 40 years of Domohyeon and is connected to an outdoor terrace, allowing for various events.

The view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge and Namcheon-dong from Domohyeon is very impressive. You can spend a leisurely time enjoying the lawn view from the second-floor outdoor terrace, and stroll through the northeast garden to see beautiful plants such as camellias, lily of the valley, and fringe trees. It is so well-maintained that you might think a considerable amount of money was spent on gardening. It is an attractive space that makes you want to recommend it to your friends as a place for a reunion, like Busan.
