Once again, I went on a trip to Jeju Island, but it wasn’t easy from the moment I arrived due to bad weather and a one-hour flight delay. The plane shook violently due to strong winds, making me feel anxious, but fortunately, we arrived safely in Jeju.

This Jeju trip had no special plans, with the goal of not straying from Jeju City. As a result, I chose ‘Patiya Guesthouse,’ located near Jeju Airport, as my accommodation.

Convenient Non-Contact Check-in and Spacious Rooms
Patiya Guesthouse has its lobby on the second floor and operates a non-contact check-in system. A text message was sent via KakaoTalk around 4 PM, which was great because we could check in earlier than the usual guesthouse check-in time (5-6 PM). Although we arrived late due to the flight delay, we were able to wash up and rest as soon as we arrived.
The room assigned on the fourth floor was more spacious than I expected, and the large parking lot I saw while walking down the hallway was also impressive. The interior of the room was spacious and comfortable, and the fact that it was connected to a hotel, allowing us to use a hotel room instead of an uncomfortable dormitory, was a big advantage. It felt like a business hotel.
Hotel-like Amenities and a Clean Bathroom
There were several mirrors in the room, and two bottles of water were provided in the refrigerator. The closet door had a unique structure where it also served as the bathroom door. In particular, the hotel-style bathroom with a bidet was a significant advantage that differentiated it from regular guesthouses. The shower stall was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and even disposable shower towels were provided, showing thoughtful consideration.
There was also a TV, so I was able to relax comfortably and watch the movie ‘Extreme Job’.
Lively Guesthouse Party
When I went down to the first floor at the party time, I found the party venue in a dimly lit atmosphere. (Thanks to the staff’s kind phone guidance, I arrived without getting lost.) The party space exuded a lively atmosphere, completely different from the guesthouse during the day.
A generous spread of side dishes including bulgogi, corn mayo, dubu kimchi, and fish cake soup was prepared, along with a bottle of soju or beer per person. The corn mayo and fish cake soup were particularly delicious, and later, hwachae (fruit punch) was also served. It was a shame I couldn’t eat much because I had dinner at the airport beforehand.
During the party, you could participate in team games led by the staff and win prizes. We had a fun time playing various games like song quizzes and grip strength games. Also, there was a system where you could collect game chips to purchase food or drinks.
