Overall Review
Saengmacha Suwon Station Branch is a place where you can enjoy samgyeopsal at a reasonable price in Suwon Station Rodeo Street. Its strengths lie in its diverse side dishes and convenient self-serve bar, and the spacious interior makes it an excellent venue for company dinners or group gatherings. Saengmacha Suwon Station Branch is conveniently located in the heart of Suwon Station Rodeo Street. Although it was a less busy time when I visited, I heard it’s usually a popular samgyeopsal restaurant. Ordering is done via a table order system, and the restaurant is quite spacious, making it suitable for visits with multiple people.
One of the biggest attractions here is the value for money. The price of 2-3 servings of samgyeopsal for 24,900 won is very reasonable considering current prices. The medium-sized samgyeop platter that I ordered came with a variety of side dishes including mushrooms, onions, pineapple, cheese, water parsley, and shrimp, allowing for a rich meal. The side dishes can be refilled as much as you want from the self-serve bar, which is also a plus.
The meat looked good and tasted delicious at first, but as I continued to eat, I felt it became a bit tough. Some reviews mentioned that the meat was so thick that chewing it made their jaws a little sore. However, it wasn’t bad tasting, and considering the low price, it was evaluated as sufficiently satisfying. The doenjang-jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew) that I ordered with it was particularly delicious. Overall, someone who doesn’t mind spending money on food might not have a desire to revisit, but it’s a recommendable place as a cost-effective samgyeopsal restaurant.
