Jamsil-dong‘s Hotspot, Rebdu (Revedoux) Visit Review

This spring, I finally visited Rebdu (Revedoux: Sweet Dream), a cafe in Jamsil-dong that gained immense popularity as the ‘crescent moon croissant.’ This place was so hot that we had to book a specific visiting time through Naver Reservations. I visited after seeing the Philippe Colberg exhibition at The Lake Gallery in Seokchon Lake.

Scheduled for May 2025

Rebdu is a dessert specialty cafe that aims for Japanese-style French patisserie, specializing in plated desserts, parfaits, petit gateaux, and viennoiseries. It is the second brand by patissier Bang Jun-ho, who graduated from the Western Confectionery course at Tokyo Kondai School and worked at renowned dessert brands like Pierre Hermé Japan and Mont St. Clair.

The cafe is located on the second floor and was bustling with customers heading up. As I climbed the stairs, I felt as if I had stepped into France.

Rebdu’s Signature: The Crescent Moon Croissant

The crescent moon-shaped croissant, resembling Rebdu’s symbol, is made with the finest French butter and meticulously crafted daily. You can add vanilla cream (ganache montée) on-site, and the policy is one croissant per person reservation. In addition to reserved quantities, a limited number are available for on-site purchase.

Diverse Dessert Lineup

In addition to the crescent moon croissant, you can find a variety of other dessert menus, including petit gateaux, vanilla tarts, Le Soleil, kouign-amann, and rusks. The visually appealing and luxurious desserts are beautifully presented.

Cafe Interior Atmosphere

The cafe interior is cozy, and it was fully occupied with customers at the time of my visit. The majority of the customers were women in their 20s. A chandelier catches the eye, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Tasting the Crescent Moon Croissant

The crescent moon croissant I took home was exquisite, with its delicate vanilla cream and the flaky, crisp texture of its layers. The flavor and texture, derived from high-quality ingredients, were outstanding. It was similar to the croissant I had at Gyeongju Brave Coffee Works, but with even more layers. I highly recommend visiting the popular Rebdu when you’re in Jamsil-dong to enjoy delicious desserts. On my next visit, I’d like to leisurely enjoy dessert with coffee.
