Jeju 2-Night 3-Day Trip: Sosaekchae Bon’s Emerging Hotspot, Sosaekchae Bon Cafe
On the first day of our Jeju trip, we visited Sosaekchae Bon, a hidden gem cafe in Andeok-myeon. We’ve been feeling a trend of Jeju’s hot new cafe streets shifting from Aewol to Andeok-myeon, with new cafes frequently seen on Instagram Reels concentrating in Andeok-myeon. Among them, Sosaekchae Bon, where you can fully enjoy the beauty of spring, boasts a fantastic harmony of Sanbangsan and canola flower fields.

Cafe Information and Location
Sosaekchae Bon opens at 9 AM and is located in the southern part of Jeju Island, right in front of Sanbangsan. Descending the sloping stairs towards the cafe, you’ll find a unique entrance. The Jeju-esque vibe is palpable from the entrance.

Cafe Interior and Menu
The interior of the main cafe building is clean and cozy. Sosaekchae Bon is also famous as a bakery cafe, but unfortunately, many baked goods were already sold out during our visit, which was a bit disappointing.

My husband and I, looking for refreshing and vitamin-rich drinks, ordered the ‘Sosaekchae Bon Ade’ and ‘Tangerine Juice’. The menu offers a variety of coffees, ades, and juices.

Canola Flower Fields and Photo Zones Leading to the Annex
A beautiful canola flower field unfolds along the path connecting the main building to the annex cafe building. This is a popular photo spot where tourists take many commemorative photos. The Sosaekchae Bon Ade and Tangerine Juice we ordered were of average taste.

Picturesque Scenery of the Main Building and the Annex
The window-side tables in the main building are popular photo spots, sometimes leading to a subtle competition for seats. Outside the window, a picturesque view of the canola fields and Yongmeori Coast unfolds. The annex cafe building also offered a refreshing view through its large windows, but it was full.

Leaving the cafe and moving towards the beach, we found a horse riding experience center. The faint smell of horse manure added to the exotic scenery.

Sosaekchae Bon’s Charming Points
Sosaekchae Bon has two buildings arranged in a line, and the surrounding outdoor garden and the sea-embracing canola flower fields offer overwhelmingly beautiful scenery, more so than the cafe buildings themselves. Especially in spring, its popularity peaks, drawing large crowds. Please note that some areas within the canola flower fields may charge a fee for photography.

Disappointment at Yongmeori Coast
Yongmeori Coast, located near the cafe, requires an entrance ticket. However, due to a high wind advisory on the day of our visit, entry was prohibited, and we could only take photos from outside the fence with regret.

Heavenly Location and Unexpected Fortune
On the way back to the cafe, the sight of Sanbangsan embracing the cafe was impressive. Thanks to its heavenly location, it seems to have become a hot spot. We were actually worried that the canola flowers might have already wilted and hadn’t included it in our itinerary, so it felt like a stroke of luck to unexpectedly see such beautiful canola flowers. We had planned to visit another cafe that turned out to be disappointing, and this place, our B-plan, turned out to be even more satisfying. The blooming period for canola flowers varies slightly by region within Jeju Island, so there are areas where they bloom and fade later.

Next to the horse riding experience center, there was also a place raising goats. The sight of young goats, covered in grass and dirt, sleeping soundly was adorable.

Various Photo Zones and Exotic Garden
Sosaekchae Bon features a popular rectangular frame photo zone that looks like a picture frame. The garden at the cafe entrance has exotic palm trees and comfortable bean bags, making it a great place to relax in a quiet and spacious environment. It boasts a view that makes you feel like you’re at a resort.

Charming Souvenir Shop
Across from Sosaekchae Bon is a charming souvenir shop that perfectly matches the color of the canola flowers. Its vibrant colors are captivating.

Recommendation and Notes for Visit
If you are traveling near Sanbangsan in Jeju during spring, we highly recommend visiting Sosaekchae Bon. You will be greeted with a magnificent view that will capture your heart more than any other canola flower field. However, the uphill road leading to the cafe is narrow and a single lane, so caution is advised for those who are not confident drivers. A large public parking lot for Sanbangsan is available.
