Sanbon Station Charcoal Grilled Intestine Restaurant Review: Gwangmyeong Daechangjib Sanbon Branch

Gyeonggi Province Gunpo Located at Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil 4-11, Unit 101, Gwangmyeong Daechangjib Sanbon Branch is a restaurant specializing in charcoal-grilled intestines and large intestines. It operates from 11:30 AM to 1:00 AM on weekdays and 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM on weekends, with a break time from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Last order is accepted until midnight. For inquiries, please call 0507-1335-7881.

I visited Gwangmyeong Daechangjib Sanbon Branch last year, and the neatly organized menu outside was helpful for choosing dishes. This place was chosen as a meeting spot with former colleagues, and I was with precious friends whom I still meet occasionally.

Individual cups were prepared on the tables, and the cutlery was brought by the staff. It was unique that seaweed was provided as part of the basic side dishes. Even more impressive was that the charcoal was served in a separate container, not on the grill plate at the table. The charcoal, served in a pot-like container, looked very hot.

Main and Additional Menu Items

We started with the assorted grilled platter, but since there were four of us, the portion wasn’t enough, so we added two more servings of grilled large intestines.

Another advantage of this place is that the staff grills the meat for you. Thanks to them, we could enjoy our meal comfortably. It reaffirmed my belief that restaurants where the staff cooks for you are the best.

Intestine Hot Pot and Fried Rice

After the main course, we ordered a medium-sized intestine hot pot. I’m not sure if we added glass noodles, but I recall we did. The hot pot’s flavor was not particularly special; it was spicy and refreshing, with almost no noticeable heat. Afterward, we finished our meal by ordering two servings of fried rice.

However, both the intestine hot pot and the fried rice felt a bit bland. Even for someone who prefers less salt, the seasoning was weak, making the taste quite plain. While the grilled dishes were delicious, the disappointing hot pot and fried rice made me less inclined to revisit. There are many other, more delicious intestine specialty restaurants nearby.
