Yeogosi Jeju Woljeong Branch: A Culinary Journey to Boneless Cutlassfish Stew
Jeju Province Jeju City This is a review of Yeogosi Jeju Woljeong Branch, located at 1st floor, building 1, 820 Haemaji Coast Road, Gujwa-eup. Please excuse any clumsiness as this is my first post in a while.

We were surprised to find out that it was the very first day of the soft opening, and even more so that we were the first customers. We couldn’t let such a special experience pass by, so we decided to post about it right away.

Spacious and Stylish Interior with a Beautiful Ocean View
The interior of the restaurant was spacious and pleasant, with the stone wall interior of the counter being particularly impressive. This is a restaurant boasting an ocean view, and although the weather was cloudy during our visit, it is an ideal place to enjoy a romantic meal while admiring the beautiful sea on a clear day.

A Special Menu: Boneless Cutlassfish Stew
Although originally known for its specialty of raw short-arm octopus, we visited to try the boneless cutlassfish stew. We ordered a set for two, and according to the owner, the cutlassfish stew is not sold at other branches and is a special menu item available only at Yeogosi Jeju Woljeong Branch. Furthermore, it felt even more special knowing that this is the only place in the Woljeong-ri area that offers boneless cutlassfish stew.

Neat Side Dishes and Heavenly Taste
Among the basic side dishes provided, the bean sprouts were especially delicious, and we could fill our stomachs with the seaweed soup.

The boneless cutlassfish stew that finally arrived initially had plenty of broth, but we waited as per the owner’s advice that it would taste even richer if simmered down. It was worth the wait, even though we were very hungry. As the broth thickened, the taste transformed into a truly heavenly flavor. We highly recommend waiting and letting it simmer before eating.

Service Raw Short-Arm Octopus and Generous Fried Rice
The raw short-arm octopus, served as a service for being the first customers, exceeded our expectations. Dipped in sesame oil, it was a new way of eating for us, but we enjoyed it immensely.

The fried rice we ordered afterward was served in a huge portion, even though we only ordered one serving. It seemed like they added extra cutlassfish meat as a service, so we were incredibly full. Following the recommendation to eat it wrapped in perilla leaves, the savory fried rice and the fragrant perilla leaves created a fantastic harmony, leading us to overeat.

My friend who visited with me also raved about it, and I was so satisfied that I’m already planning my next visit. The kindness of the owner and staff also contributed to making this place even more special.
If you’re looking for delicious boneless cutlassfish stew in the Jeju City area, we highly recommend Yeogosi Jeju Woljeong Branch. It’s also an ideal spot to stop by on your way to Seongsan.
