A Hearty Galbitang at Jeongmi Kkakdugi Main Branch
Sinnonhyeon Station We visited Jeongmi Kkakdugi Main Branch, located near Sinnonhyeon Station, for a hangover cure and a delicious lunch. The name of the place itself is intriguing, making us anticipate tasty kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). Jeongmi Kkakdugi Main Branch, situated on the first floor at Gangnam-daero 110-gil 13, is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, and inquiries can be made at 0507-1398-3688.

The interior of the restaurant is not spacious, but it has a decent number of tables, suggesting a good turnover rate even during lunchtime. The menu offered various types of seolleongtang (ox bone soup) and an assortment of side dishes for drinks. Notably, the galbitang (short rib soup) priced at 16,000 won made us realize the cost of dining in Gangnam.

Generous Side Dishes and Ample Rice Portions
After ordering, we were served napa cabbage kimchi, kkakdugi, and stir-fried fish cakes as basic side dishes. The provision of tongs and scissors was particularly helpful for separating the meat from the ribs. The rice portion was so generous that even though we came for a hangover cure, we couldn’t finish it all.

The kimchi looked fresh and appetizing, with a visual appeal that made it perfect to enjoy with the soup and kkakdugi.

A Harmony of Rich Broth and Tender Ribs
Finally, the long-awaited galbitang arrived. We were especially pleased to find a generous amount of glass noodles included. Adding plenty of black pepper from the table dispenser enhanced the spicy flavor, making it perfect for a hangover cure.

The ribs were so tender from long simmering that they easily fell off the bone. Cutting them into bite-sized pieces with the scissors and enjoying them with the broth offered the best taste.

Satisfying Hangover Cure and Intent to Revisit
Jeongmi Kkakdugi truly lived up to its name. We refilled our kkakdugi multiple times, and the combination of the spicy galbitang broth and the sweet and sour kkakdugi provided a perfect hangover cure. The only drawback was the price, but considering the Gangnam location and the menu item, it was quite understandable. If it had been a mediocre meal, we might not have forgiven the price, but this place was thoroughly satisfying.
If you’re looking for a great place to eat in Gangnam, a spot for hangover soup, seolleongtang, or galbitang at Sinnonhyeon Station, we highly recommend Jeongmi Kkakdugi Main Branch. If we crave galbitang in Gangnam again, we won’t hesitate to visit again. 😆👍
