Sanghyeon Station Dakbal Restaurant, Finally Found Aсси Dakbal
After a long time of searching for a dakbal restaurant, I have finally discovered my life’s best dakbal place. It is Aсси Dakbal, located near Sanghyeon Station. My usual favorite place closed down, and I’ve been to many places for two years, but now Aсси Dakbal seems to be able to fill that void. Although it’s a chain, I hadn’t visited because it wasn’t in my neighborhood, but I was very satisfied to visit this time.

It’s very accessible, located about a 3-minute walk from Exit Sanghyeon Station 2. In particular, this place has outdoor tables, so it’s great for enjoying dakbal outdoors on nice weather days. There are a total of 4 outdoor tables available.

Since it originally operated as a takeout and delivery-only establishment, the dining area isn’t very large, but there’s enough space to accommodate a group of about 8 people. Our party also settled in comfortably and ordered various menu items.

Specialty Dishes That Capture the Palate
The steamed egg we tried first was truly the best ever. Its soft and moist texture was exquisite, and it was so delicious that we finished it in no time. Even before the dakbal arrived, the steamed egg was gone.

The boneless braised dakbal, our main dish, was generously filled with bean sprouts, shredded green onions, and quail eggs. The portion of dakbal was also ample, which was satisfying. Eating it wrapped with the provided mentaiko mayo sauce and perilla leaves made it even more delicious.

The rice balls were also not ordinary. The combination of pickled radish and mayonnaise balanced the flavors, making for delicious rice balls where each grain of rice seemed alive. It made me want to visit again on the weekend.

Despite being a dakbal restaurant, the garlic fried chicken was as good as any chicken place. It tasted similar to a honey combo, and I highly recommend it to those who can’t handle spicy food.

In addition to the braised dakbal, we also ordered the grilled boneless dakbal. I’m usually a fan of braised dishes, but since the dakbal here was so delicious, I decided to try the grilled version as well. The freshly served, hot grilled dakbal was, as expected, excellent. Some commented that it was a bit spicier than the braised dakbal.

Unfortunately, the pork cartilage (odolppyeo) didn’t quite meet expectations. The seasoning felt excessive, and the thick taste of gochujang was strong. However, considering this is a dakbal specialty restaurant, it’s understandable. Despite this, Aсси Dakbal is a restaurant with a high likelihood of repeat visits.

As we were leaving, I noticed they also sell organic free-range eggs. It’s a shame I only discovered Aсси Dakbal, a worthy top-tier dakbal restaurant in Sanghyeon Station, so late. I’m truly happy to have finally found a delicious dakbal place. I wish a great restaurant like this would open in my neighborhood too.
