Apsan Keungoljip Apsan Branch: A Holy Site for Spicy Pork Rib Stew, Review
Daegu Located at 35 Keungol-gil, Daegu Nam District, Apsan Keungoljip Apsan Branch is a famous restaurant known for its spicy pork rib stew. It is open daily from 11:30 AM to 9:45 PM, with a break time from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and last orders at 2:30 PM and 8:45 PM.
Although it is a chain restaurant only in the Daegu area, visiting the main branch, as its reputation suggests, offers a special experience. At the time of my visit, there was a queue of about two groups, but I was able to get in quickly without a long wait. I appreciated the waiting area outside, which allowed for a comfortable wait. Parking space is somewhat limited, but parking is possible if there is a spot in the alley.
Apsan Keungoljip Apsan Branch offers a diverse menu, and choosing a set menu is advantageous in terms of value for money. They also provide a takeout service, making citizens of Daegu enviable.
I ordered the 2-person set with added glass noodles. The spiciness can be adjusted, and I chose level 3, which is said to be the most popular. As it was my first visit, I chose a moderate level.
The pork rib stew is not served immediately after cooking; it is brought to the table set and must be cooked by the customer. The staff set a timer and instructed me not to open the lid. After the timer rang, they came over and stirred it for me.
Along with the basic side dishes, the set also included a buckwheat pancake. The buckwheat pancake was thin but generously portioned, and it was plentiful when cut.
Once the pork rib stew starts boiling, you can add bean sprouts and enjoy it together. The accompanying gondre rice was truly delicious, and the level 3 spiciness was just the right amount of spicy. However, the taste was so addictive that I became curious about level 4. If it weren’t so far, I would definitely get it as takeout and eat it again.
Daegu After the meal, I participated in a nostalgic lottery event and unfortunately received Apollo, a nostalgic candy, as the 5th prize. I highly recommend Apsan Keungoljip Apsan Branch as a great place for spicy pork rib stew, and it’s a restaurant I want to visit again.
