Konkuk University Station Songhwasan Sidodakmyeon Branch 2 Review

On a rainy day, we visited Konkuk University Station Songhwasan Sidodakmyeon Branch 2, which we discovered by chance instead of our originally planned main branch. Located at Seoul Special City Gwangjin District Achasan-ro 30-gil 33, this place is open daily from 12:00 to 23:30, with the last order at 22:45. Please note that there is a break time from 15:00 to 16:00 on weekends. The phone number is 0507-1476-7832.

After waiting for about 40 minutes, we entered the restaurant. Peanuts and zha cai were served as basic side dishes. We were momentarily confused as we couldn’t see a menu or tablet, but it turned out to be a system where you order via a QR code attached to the table. The modern ordering method, reflecting the characteristics of the Konkuk University area, was impressive.

Unfortunately, Harbin beer was not available, but we ordered Tsingtao beer along with Daodakmyeon, Tomato Egg Rice, and Xiaolongbao. The Daodakmyeon, which came out first, is characterized by its thick noodles and had a visual similar to malatang. The combination of the meat broth-based soup and the thick yet chewy noodles was excellent. The added vegetables were also a stroke of genius.

The Tomato Egg Rice that followed was unexpectedly not too sweet and had a savory flavor that made us keep reaching for more. It was so addictive that we couldn’t stop even though we were full. The Xiaolongbao is a dish that anyone who likes dumplings will love, with its rich meat broth flavor being exceptional.

Finally, the Shrimp Asparagus Dim Sum we added had a light and healthy taste. We ordered it for a friend who doesn’t eat much meat, but personally, I preferred the Xiaolongbao. Nevertheless, the Shrimp Asparagus Dim Sum was also very delicious.

Songhwasan Sidodakmyeon Branch 2 Songhwasan Sidodakmyeon Branch 2, already famous as a great restaurant in the Konkuk University area, is well worth the visit despite the long wait. Highly recommended!
